Scope: Remodel of existing operating suite to accommodate new state-of-the-art and orthoscopic procedures. Goal: Deliver a state-of-the-art operating suite, which houses robotics technology and provides a comfortable space within the confines of an existing operating room. Challenge: Retrofitting an existing substandard space with insufficient square footage, while handling infrastructure upgrades to suit both patient and surgeon comfortably and still allow for the dynamics of progressive procedures, and a sterile environment. Solution: To work with manufacturer and plan the room with great deal of care, paying attention to all existing conditions and potential conflicts. We consulted all the surgeons who would be using this suite and were educated on all the different procedures, which enabled us to better plan the operating suite.
